What To Expect During A Tooth Filling Procedure At Our Clinic

Tooth fillings involve several stages, beginning with examination and ending with restoring the tooth. We explain each step clearly and work in a structured way so you understand the procedure.

STEP - 01

Tooth Assessment

Our dentist examines the affected tooth and surrounding structure to identify decay and determine whether a filling is appropriate.

STEP - 02

Preparing The Tooth

The affected area is cleaned and prepared so the filling material can be placed.

STEP - 03

Filling Placement

A tooth-coloured filling material is applied to restore the damaged area and support the tooth’s structure.

STEP - 04

Checking Tooth Function

Our dentist reviews the bite and shape of the filling to confirm that the tooth functions normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The lifespan of a tooth filling can vary depending on the material used, the location of the filling, and daily oral care habits. Regular dental visits allow existing fillings to be checked so their condition can be reviewed over time.

Yes. Over time, fillings may show signs of wear or small changes along the edges. If this occurs, our dentist can assess the tooth and discuss whether repairing or replacing the filling is appropriate.

Some people may notice temporary sensitivity to temperature or pressure after a filling is placed. This usually settles as the tooth adjusts. If sensitivity continues or changes, contacting our clinic allows our dentist to review the tooth and discuss suitable next steps.
